Nativised English Lexemes and Semantic Shift in Malaysian English

In Malaysia, Malaysian English is a variety that very much known by the speech community and commonly used for colloquial communication. Although many studies have been conducted in exploring development of ME within various aspects, little research focused on lexemes semantic shift ME. Thus, as empirical literatures field shown lexis semantics are constantly evolving from time to time, it imperative more should also be investigate identification frequently indigenized well validating its meanings context so linguists researchers will better understanding current lexical trends Malaysia can further explore other aspects these trending lexicals among different social groups community. Based descriptive cross-sectional survey approach through distribution questionnaires, findings shows found under category informalization most words study were agreed respondents. However, comments respondents several could wider deeper which why this suggests phenomenon.
